Guilty as charged! I've definitely found myself thinking in black and white: success / failure, action / laziness, healthy / sick, spinach+lentils / beer+french fries, etc. Thanks for reminding me that I am not alone and that it takes conscious action to truly embrace the space between black and white and move forward in this space :)
You are so welcome, Leslie! It is so easy to get stuck on one side or the other and really limit our movement. Both sides are what create movement. With out pressure a baby would never be born, and with too much pressure it would become damaged in passage. Contract and release. Expand and contract. Well when it comes to principle or respect there should be a black and white line.
The problem is that people negotiate too much on the things that should not be discussed.
Being there for your loved ones for instance or respecting the guy code, there should never be violations here.
Hey Freedom! Yes, I totally agree. Integrity is integrity and is non-negotiable. You're either coming from building or tearing down. The problem I see is that when people do something that is out of integrity they often label themselves as a bad person. Instead of going "Okay, I'm a good person, with good intentions and what I just did, oh man, that was so off. I have a TON of cleaning up and learning to do!!!", and then working their ass off at turning the behavior around. We all learn from messing up and cleaning up. But yes, as you say, on is on and off is off. Straight up.@FreedomJackson
